November 2021 Outings

Tiger Dunlop Trail Walk-Friday November 5, 2021

Meet at  Sobeys car park 12.45 pm for departure at 1 p.m.  We will stop at Amberly Gas Station (HWY 9 and 21 )to meet up with anyone coming from Lucknow area and anyone else coming from the south closer to Goderich can meet at the entrance to the trail on Highway 21 north side of the bridge at the trail just off the road.

There is sign there for the Tiger Dunlop Trail.   If you’re coming south over the bridge it is on the left, from the north right.    There is a carpark there, poplar with fishermen and trail walkers.

The trail bed was once the railway line so makes for easy walking. Testing the trail out Sunday,

I had never been there before (I’m still a newbie), it was very scenic and enjoyable walk, pretty views, nice colour show from trees.  The trail to the old CPR station is 3.2 km Along the way are many benches if one needs to take a breath and take in the scenery, unfortunately no washrooms until the end of the trail.

Once at the station, individuals can travel a bit further along the beach trail and/or search for coffee.  We will pass a fish and chip shack, that boast to have the BEST fish and chips  for miles around, serving haddock  at a cost of  $10 outside service only.

All week a nice day is predicted for Friday, so decided to go for it.  Let me know if you think you may join in on this walk or for more info.
